There's nothing quite like a classic hamburger! With its juicy patty, melty cheese, and all the fixings, it's a staple dish that everyone loves.
But making the perfect classic hamburger is an art form that requires a few tips and tricks. In this recipe, we'll show you how to make a delicious and juicy patty that will rival any restaurant burger.
From selecting the right meat to mastering the grill, we'll guide you through every step of the process.
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef (80% lean, 20% fat), 1 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp black pepper, 4 hamburger buns, 4 slices of cheese, Lettuce, Tomato, Onion, Ketchup, Mustard, Mayonnaise
Instructions
Preheat your grill or a large skillet to medium-high heat. In a bowl, gently mix the ground beef with salt and pepper. Don't overwork the meat, or it will become tough.
Divide the beef into four equal portions and form them into patties. Make them slightly larger than the size of the buns, as they will shrink when cooking.
Grill the burgers for 3-4 minutes per side or until they reach an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).
In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheese on top of each burger and let it melt. Toast the buns on the grill for 1-2 minutes.
Assemble the burgers by placing lettuce, tomato, and onion on the bottom bun, followed by the cooked patty with cheese.
Add ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise to taste. Top with the other half of the bun and serve hot. Enjoy your delicious classic hamburger!
