Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

In a separate bowl, cream together the butter and peanut butter until light and fluffy. Beat in the milk, eggs, and vanilla extract until combined.

Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.

Pour the batter into the prepared cake pans and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

In a large bowl, cream together the butter and peanut butter until light and fluffy. Beat in the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.

Place one cake layer on a serving plate. Spread with a layer of frosting. Top with the second cake layer and frost the top and sides of the cake.
